Recently in class, we learned about "problem turned into a challenge" which is where we had to solve a problem by being focused and collaborative with others. Real life is filled with problems that we turn into challenges. Basically, a problem is bad, but a challenge can be positive. Challenges are problems we can solve and learn from. One example of a problem-turned-challenge experience I've had had to do with my French class. My teacher always assigns lots (and lots) of homework, and one week I got sick. I fell behind on my homework and got really stressed out. I was 20 assignments behind! I didn't think I'd ever catch up, it seemed impossible with my busy schedule. Luckily, I have a strong support system that encouraged me to take it slow and not stress out so much. By taking it one assignment at a time, and not panicking, I managed to get it all done. Self-Awareness

I try to be a self-aware person. A defining character aspect of mine is that I am constantly trying to self-improve. One must be self-aware in order to know what they must improve. Due to my struggles with mental illness, I have had to become very aware of my own thoughts, feelings, actions and how they are all related. For example, I may notice one day that my behavior and feelings do not match my thoughts, and then try to correct myself and act the way I should. This lesson, the importance of being self-aware, has been deeply ingrained in me over the years. I definitely place more importance on being self-aware than your average 18-year-old. I think as you get older, maybe you become more self-aware. Especially after you start paying attention to your thoughts and striving for that awareness, then it just takes time to learn. Influences

Human beings are constantly being influenced. We are influenced by people, by the media, by our own experiences, and by word of others. Each day we are influenced by countless of sources. It is impossible to live a life without influence. However, in this post I want to specifically address the most notable people and experiences that have influenced my life. To start with, my mother. She was a major influence early in my life and has taught me a lot. She taught me to be myself and think outside the box, which contributes to a lot of my character. Other influences are my brothers, because they make me want to be the best I can possibly be, and they also make me want to be a great influence to them. My friends are also influential in ways, because they are all unique and kind souls that encourage me to not only be myself but to actively do good in the world.
